Aclara Resources Inc. has disclosed the feasibility study results for the Carina Project, reporting an after-tax NPV8 of US$1.7 billion. Located in Goiás, Brazil, the project benefits from significant rare earth production over 18 years. Key contributors to the study include Hatch and several industry consultants. The study reflects robust economics, with an 8.0% discount rate and a 26.9% IRR. Initial capital costs total US$780.9 million due to inflation and increased accuracy. Aclara plans to start early site works by Q3 2026, aiming for initial production by H2 2028.
The Carina Project, featuring a sustainable circular mineral harvesting process, avoids traditional mining impacts, recirculating 93% of its water. It holds strategic integration with Aclara's Louisiana separation facility, enhancing market reliability of rare earth oxides. The project is backed by financial support from key shareholders and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation, ensuring a concrete supply chain in the American continent.
