Neel Khokhani's Epochal Corporation Reports Eight-Year Performance Milestone and Details Research-Driven, Concentrated Investment Mandate

Melbourne, Australia, August 5th, 2026, FinanceWire

Epochal Corporation, the private single-family office through which Neel Khokhani deploys his own capital, today reported that proprietary capital within the office has compounded at approximately 24 percent annually over the past eight years and published a detailed description of the firm’s concentrated, long-horizon investment mandate and research processes.

Epochal Corporation confirmed that the vehicle is not a fund and operates without a redemption calendar, external benchmark, or quarterly reporting obligation to third parties. That structure underpins a mandate that emphasizes concentrated position sizing determined by conviction, a requirement that intrinsic value be computed before a position is opened, and a stated real hurdle rate in the range of 17 to 20 percent. The hurdle rate is applied as a formal threshold that excludes the majority of opportunities reviewed and concentrates capital into a small number of positions held through market cycles.

Geographic focus for the mandate centers on North America and Europe, with sector emphasis on AI infrastructure, deep technology and the critical-resource supply chains that support those industries. Positioning within public equities, private operating businesses and alternative assets is undertaken from a principal capital base rather than on behalf of external investors. Position sizing follows conviction rather than diversification mathematics; one longstanding concentrated position has been held since 2022 in a Nasdaq-listed AI infrastructure company, with a most recent public disclosure recording ownership of 703,000 shares.

Epochal’s distinguishing research edge rests on primary-source inputs and direct observation rather than on sell-side models and consensus estimates. The office compiles and analyzes utility interconnection queues, transmission planning documents, municipal permit filings and corporate registry records as foundational evidence. Satellite and aerial imagery of construction sites, visible equipment nameplate data in site photography, job-posting patterns and regulatory filings across the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission are included in regular workflows. The underlying premise guiding that approach is that, within AI infrastructure, binding constraints such as power, land and grid interconnection are physical and often observable well before those constraints appear in financial statements.

In practice, research activities have included tracing transformer specifications at datacenter sites to infer deployed compute density, cross-referencing grid operator planning data against announced capacity, and identifying corporate subsidiaries in registry records prior to public disclosure. Thematic outcomes of that research have been described internally as energised megawatts, powered land, advanced packaging and semiconductor supply-chain bottlenecks. Those themes and supporting evidence are published openly by the office rather than held solely as internal proprietary insights.

Engaged ownership is presented as a component of the mandate when positions reach material size. As a significant shareholder in a public AI infrastructure company, Epochal has undertaken active governance engagement on matters it views as dilutive to existing holders, corresponding directly with company board leadership and engaging proxy advisers on contested compensation matters. The office describes such actions as consistent with the long-horizon commitment implicit in concentrated ownership.

The research and investment approach is informed by prior operational experience. Neel Khokhani founded an aviation services business that grew from a single aircraft to a fleet of fifty-five units, financed through customer prepayments and operating cash without a priced equity round or syndicated debt. The majority stake in that business was sold before subsequent developments that occurred after Khokhani’s exit, during a period in which no directorship or operational control was retained. Separately, acquisition of an approximately one-third interest in a consumer-finance business included a corporate simplification on entry, revenue growth from roughly $45 million to approximately $82 million under the platform’s oversight, and an exit at an enterprise value of about $121 million. Vachi Storage, a self-storage operator in the United Arab Emirates, remains owned and operated within the platform and is described by the office as a defensive holding that provides predictable, capital-light cash flow and liquidity that is not correlated with the technology cycle.

Outside financial markets, the office maintains a private contemporary art holding known as The Epochal Collection, comprised of roughly eighty works by artists from more than twenty-five countries and weighted toward contemporary figurative painting and artists working outside the New York and London markets. Publishing of positions and research is conducted openly on Substack and via X under the handle @neel_epochal, and commentary by the principal has appeared in multiple trade and financial publications.
