Linz, 11 December 2025 – HPW Metallwerk GmbH (HPW), a manufacturer of high-performance copper wires for industrial applications, has established a joint venture with BRAND KG (brandgroup) for the joint production of innovative busbars. The joint venture, operating under the name High Performance Busbars, offers the complete value chain for the production of high-tech wires and busbars for e-mobility under one roof. Within the joint venture, HPW contributes its expertise in manufacturing insulated high-performance wires, while brandgroup brings decades of experience in metal forming and assembly technology.

Busbars are used to transmit and distribute electrical energy across various applications, including industrial and commercial systems with electric drive components and, increasingly, electric vehicles. Busbars are made from aluminum or copper and come in various cross-sections and connection options. Compared to conventional cables, they are easier to install, mechanically more robust, thermally more resilient, and significantly lighter when made of aluminum. Moreover, they are more cost-efficient. This makes busbars an important and innovative component in e-vehicles.

With brandgroup’s existing presence in China, Mexico, and the EU, the joint venture aims to further strengthen its international footprint and tap into new customer groups in additional attractive markets.

Its products are used in the automotive supply industry, the construction sector, and other industrial applications. Through the joint venture, both companies combine their expertise to produce customized busbar solutions made from specially coated high-tech flat conductors for the e-mobility sector.
