FP Trading Secures UAE Capital Market Authority (CMA) Licence

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, August 21st, 2026, FinanceWire

FP Trading, an international forex and CFD brokerage, has secured a Category 5 licence from the UAE's Capital Market Authority (CMA), formerly the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), giving the firm a regulated onshore presence in the country. The licence covers marketing, promotional, and client introduction activities within the UAE.

The company said the move marks a shift away from serving the market purely from outside the country, toward operating through a locally licensed entity that can promote its services and introduce clients to its regulated brokerage entities on the ground. Trade execution and custody of client funds will remain with FP Trading's existing regulated entities in other jurisdictions, with the UAE licence specifically covering marketing and introduction-related functions.

The decision, according to FP Trading, was driven in part by the UAE's continued growth as a regional financial hub. In recent years, the country has attracted a wide range of brokers and financial services firms looking to build a more established, locally regulated presence rather than operate solely through licences held elsewhere. Obtaining the CMA licence, the company said, reflects that same shift toward a more direct regulatory relationship within the country.

Both clients and partners stand to benefit from the new structure, the company said. For clients, the licence adds to FP Trading's existing framework of regulatory oversight, which already spans several jurisdictions, giving the firm a more direct regulatory footing specifically within the UAE. For partners in the region, including introducing brokers and affiliates, an onshore presence is expected to mean faster communication, closer collaboration, and infrastructure based nearer to where those partners are actually working.

FP Trading also described the licence as part of a broader, ongoing approach to expanding its regulatory base market by market, rather than a standalone development. The company said the UAE licence represents one of the more significant steps in that process, given the pace of growth within the country's trading and financial services sector.

Narayan Joshi, General Manager of FP Trading, said: "Having this licence in place lets us work far more closely with our clients and partners in the UAE. It's a long-term commitment to the region, not a short-term move, and it fits into how we're building out our regulatory presence more broadly."

Looking ahead, the company plans to continue expanding its regulatory coverage across additional markets, with the UAE now forming a central part of its regional strategy. This growth will be accompanied by continued investment in its trading infrastructure and support functions, and further updates on its licensing activity are expected in the coming months.
