Alexander Kiesel Launches Periti Studios as an Independent Film and AI-Assisted Media Studio in Cyprus

After years of working across film production and visual storytelling, Alexander Kiesel has taken the step of launching Periti Studios as a formal independent media studio in Cyprus. The studio is now running across a range of project types: feature film development, short-form content, a lo-fi animation series, and a combat sports entertainment project called Periti Combat.

The studio runs out of Nicosia with a small crew, and that setup is intentional. Alexander Kiesel keeps creative decisions close, from how a project looks in its earliest stages through to the final cut. The team puts atmosphere and visual identity ahead of production decisions. Red Empress centers on power and identity within a royal setting. The project is built around character-driven visuals and a controlled atmosphere that reflects the way the studio generally approaches its film work. The Last Amazon goes in a separate direction. It is a survival story set deep in a rainforest, where the tension comes from the physical environment and the movement through it.

Hollywood Is Cooked is a video essay Alexander Kiesel wrote and produced about AI-assisted filmmaking and what independent production looks like right now. It reflects a lot of the thinking behind how Periti Studios works and is available on the studio's YouTube channel.

Still Motion is a 2.5D animation series made at Periti Studios. Each short is built in layered parallax, which gives flat illustrated scenes a sense of depth and drift. The pacing is slow by design, and the light does most of the storytelling. Makoto Shinkai's approach to atmosphere was a clear reference point. The pieces are not built around a plot or a conclusion. They are meant to sit with the viewer and repeat.

Periti Combat is one of the more unusual things coming out of Periti Studios. It takes staged combat and treats each fight the way a director would treat a film sequence. Staging, rhythm, camera angle, and atmosphere all get the same attention as the action itself.

Every fighter in the series is developed as a character. They have a visual identity and a presence that carries across episodes, which follows the same worldbuilding instinct behind the studio's other work. Seven episodes have been produced and are currently on the Periti Studios YouTube channel.

AI-assisted tools are built into how Alexander Kiesel works at Periti Studios. Visual ideas get tested early, and multiple directions get explored before anything is locked in.
