ZPMC Introduces Advanced Automated Production Line for Enclosures
Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries (ZPMC) has launched a new automated production line for compact enclosures at its Nantong facility. This advanced setup is a departure from traditional assembly lines as it integrates high manufacturing flexibility without relying on custom tooling or pre-drilled components. The system prominently features two 5-axis machining centers combined with a flexible manufacturing system and an automated Rail Guided Vehicle (RGV) for material handling.
Designed for small enclosures and key components like planetary carriers and reducer housings, the line completes precision processes such as milling and drilling in a single clamping. This innovation enhances machining accuracy and consistency. Additionally, the setup allows for improved equipment effectiveness, accommodating mixed production models with smart scheduling.
With this technology, the line operates unattended for 24 hours, needing only one operator per shift, effectively cutting labor costs by 50% and boosting productivity by over 33%. Anticipated annual output is over 8,600 units. This development plays a significant role in ZPMC's strategy for enhanced and flexible manufacturing, reducing costs while supporting high-performance component production.
