Nanjing Xinshengwei Yangtze River Bridge Awarded Gustav Lindenthal Medal

The Nanjing Xinshengwei Yangtze River Bridge, involving Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (ZPMC), has secured the prestigious Gustav Lindenthal Medal at the 2026 International Bridge Conference. This award highlights the bridge as a significant achievement in bridge engineering.

Located along the Yangtze River in Nanjing, the bridge is a crucial transport link connecting Qixia District, Jiangbei New Area, and the Economic Zone. Its single-span suspension design features a main span of 1,760 meters, ranking first in China and third worldwide. Open to traffic, it has significantly reduced travel times across the river, thus aiding regional development.

ZPMC's role included fabricating substantial steel components, with 18,000 metric tons of steel forming a major part of the bridge's structure. The Gustav Lindenthal Medal is a globally recognized award, akin to the "Nobel Prize" of bridge engineering, honoring innovation and design.
