ZEISS Acquires Ceres Holographics to Boost Holography Industrialization
ZEISS has announced the acquisition of Ceres Holographics, a holographic technology company based in Livingston, Scotland. This move integrates Ceres into ZEISS Microoptics, aimed at industrializing holography for automotive, aerospace, and consumer markets. The acquisition enhances ZEISS' ProSight® platform by integrating Ceres' innovations in hologram manufacturing.
The merger aims to accelerate the development of holographic windshield displays for the automotive sector, turning holography from a conceptual phase into a market reality. This expanded capability will allow ZEISS to enter other holographic markets, such as retail and public transportation, with enhanced global manufacturing and customer access.
Founded in 2009, Ceres Holographics has focused on automotive applications, particularly windshield displays using proprietary technology. The partnership with ZEISS is set to leverage their combined strengths to offer expanded technological solutions and greater market reach.
