Xilam and UGC to Adapt 'Empire of the Ants' for Television
Xilam Animation and UGC are set to adapt Bernard Werber's novel 'Empire of the Ants' into a television series. The collaboration merges UGC's filmmaking prowess with Xilam's animation expertise. The novel has captivated readers for 35 years, selling seven million copies globally.
The series, aimed at families, will explore two narratives: in the human realm, a murder mystery centered on ant expert Edmond Wells; in the ant world, a secret threat to the colony. Live action will depict human scenes, while visual effects will bring the ant world to life.
Vladimir Haulet will pen the series, with Nicolas Deveaux leading VFX. Xilam and UGC will produce, promising a high-caliber adaptation that offers a new dimension to Werber's work.
