Wescan Goldfields Launches Diamond Drilling at Munro Lake
Wescan Goldfields Inc. has initiated a diamond drilling program at its Munro Lake Project in northern Saskatchewan. This marks the first drilling activity on the site since 2013. The Phase 1 program consists of up to 2,000 meters of helicopter-supported diamond drilling, expected to last five weeks. The project is strategically located near SSR Mining's Seabee mine, Saskatchewan's sole gold-producing operation.
The initial drilling will focus on the southeast zone, targeting extensions of notable gold intercepts from the 2013 campaign. Specifically, past findings include 67.1 g/t gold over 1.00 meter in drill hole EXML-002. Subsequent drill holes aim to examine targets across a 7-kilometer mineralized trend, influenced by structural mapping of quartz veins.
CEO W. Connor MacNeill described the commencement as a significant milestone for the company. The drilling program aims to explore the mineralization potential at Munro Lake, contributing to Wescan's broader exploration strategy within Saskatchewan.
