Wescan Goldfields Launches 2026 Drill Campaign with Promising Findings
Wescan Goldfields Inc. has identified visible gold in drill core from the first hole of its 2026 campaign at the Munro Lake Project, located in Northern Saskatchewan. The visible gold appears at 33.4 meters downhole in a narrow sulphide- and diopside-rich shear zone, extending approximately 10 centimeters. The core, named ML26-005, was drilled to examine the North Vein Target in the Southeast Zone, a site where visible gold was previously found on the surface. The assay results are pending, with the company committed to sampling every drill hole over its full length.
Munro Lake is proximally located seven kilometers northeast of SSR Mining’s Seabee mine, the sole producing gold operation in Saskatchewan. Despite starting later than planned due to logistical delays, the drilling is now underway and expected to conclude in early November. CEO W. Connor MacNeill expressed optimism, citing the discovery of visible gold as an encouraging start to the campaign.
