Vulcan Minerals Resumes Drilling at Carbonear Project in Newfoundland
Vulcan Minerals Inc. has announced the resumption of its drilling program at the Carbonear Project in eastern Newfoundland. Drilling is set to begin mid-June. Previously halted due to weather, the program aims to complete five additional holes covering approximately 1,000 meters. Initial results from hole CP-26-11 indicate potential for a SEDEX type zinc deposit, with zinc concentrations reaching 0.264% over 7.5 meters.
Patrick Laracy, President, emphasized the exploratory nature of the project, stating that the anomalous mineralization is promising for ongoing exploration. Located within a Precambrian marine sedimentary sequence, the Carbonear Project is part of Vulcan’s wider strategy to explore base and precious metal deposits in the region.
Assay work conducted by SGS Natural Resources adheres to stringent quality control standards. Vulcan also seeks support from the Junior Exploration Assistance program for 2026, which would aid in further exploration efforts. The company launches a new website to reflect its evolving exploration activities.
