Sedgman and HOCHTIEF Secure EPCM Contract for Vulcan Energy's Lionheart Project
Vulcan Energy Resources Limited has entered into agreements with the Sedgman-HOCHTIEF joint venture for engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services in the Lionheart Project, aiming for a significant advance in sustainable lithium production. Lionheart is poised to produce 24,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide monohydrate annually, supporting approximately 500,000 electric vehicles while generating substantial power and heat.
Contracts address full project management for both the Lithium Extraction Plant in Landau and the Central Lithium Plant at Industrial Park Höchst. The agreements, valued at around €72 million, consolidate project responsibilities, ensuring consistency in standards and permitting requirements. The collaboration capitalizes on Sedgman's and HOCHTIEF's expertise, marking a key step in Vulcan’s plans to deliver Europe's first battery-grade lithium product at scale.
