ABB Selected as Main Contractor for Vulcan's Lionheart Project

Vulcan Energy Resources Limited has appointed ABB as the Main Electrical Contractor for its Phase One Lionheart Project. This significant European lithium project, located in Germany, aims to produce 24,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide monohydrate annually, enough for approximately 500,000 electric vehicles.

ABB's responsibilities include electrical design, engineering, and equipment supply, with a contract value of approximately €46 million. The project will cover the Lithium Extraction Plant in Landau and the Central Lithium Plant in Frankfurt. ABB will deliver critical electrical infrastructure needed to energize the systems effectively and reliably.

This long-term partnership follows a successful collaboration under a previous Memorandum of Understanding. Vulcan aims to finalize project financing by late 2025, marking a crucial step in Europe's transition towards greener energy.
