Voltalia begins construction of Artemisya in Uzbekistan
Voltalia, a global renewable energy company, has announced the start of construction on the first phase of the Artemisya hybrid complex in Uzbekistan. This project combines energy storage and wind power, with a capacity of 100 megawatts each. The launch was officially announced following the signing of a government contract guaranteeing a 25-year electricity supply.
The complex, located in Bukhara, will contribute to the flexibility and reliability of the Uzbek electricity grid. Once completed, it will support national renewable energy capacity targets, aiming for 8 gigawatts by 2026 and 12 gigawatts by 2030. Robert Klein, CEO of Voltalia, emphasizes the importance of these hybrid solutions for grid stability. Commissioning is scheduled for 2027.
