Voestalpine Reports Earnings Growth Amid Volatile Market
Voestalpine AG experienced notable financial growth in the 2025/26 fiscal year, increasing key earnings metrics despite a challenging market. The company's EBITDA rose to EUR 1.5 billion, a 15% increase from the previous year, and EBIT surged by 59% to EUR 724 million. Voestalpine's profit before tax also more than doubled to EUR 587 million, with post-tax profit climbing to EUR 424 million. Revenue, however, saw a slight dip to EUR 15.1 billion from EUR 15.7 billion the previous year.
Despite facing a volatile environment, including geopolitical tensions and tariffs, the group successfully pursued reorganization efforts and expanded internationally. Positive performance was seen in the railway systems, aerospace, and warehouse technology sectors, while challenges were noted in automotive components due to subdued demand. Social plans helped manage workforce adjustments, resulting in a decrease to 48,800 employees.
Voestalpine's commitment to sustainability continues through its greentec steel initiative, aiming to cut CO2 emissions significantly. Looking forward, the company projects stable cash flow and EBITDA within EUR 1.60 to 1.85 billion for the 2026/27 fiscal year.
