Veolia wins major contract to modernize Cúcuta's water infrastructure
Veolia has signed a major contract to modernize water infrastructure in Cúcuta, Colombia. This 20-year project represents an average annual revenue of €100 million, totaling €2 billion. This contract strengthens Veolia's position in Latin America, with Colombia as a strategic market. Cúcuta, which faces significant water-related challenges, will benefit from upgrades that will reduce leakage from 42% to less than 30%, bringing it in line with the best systems in Latin America.
The project includes advanced technologies such as leak detection, dynamic control and network renewal, contributing to environmental security and sustainable resource management for its 866,000 inhabitants.
