Vallourec Secures Major Contract with Shell in Brazil
On January 12, 2026, Vallourec announced that it has won a significant contract with Shell for the development of the Orca offshore project in Brazil. The contract was secured following a competitive bidding process and involves the supply of Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) products and services. The drilling for the project is expected to commence in April 2027, with plans to drill 10 wells using 12,000 to 15,000 tons of pipes.
The agreement includes the delivery of seamless pipes and VAM® premium connections, with pipe sizes ranging from 4.5” to 18” in both carbon and stainless-steel tubulars. Vallourec will also provide various value-added services such as engineering, material coordination, and offshore supervision, aimed at optimizing Shell's operational efficiency.
Philippe Guillemot, CEO of Vallourec, stated that this contract highlights Vallourec’s capability to support its clients through the value chain, emphasizing the value of VAM® premium connections in Brazil.
