US Secretary of Energy Returns to Powering Africa Summit 2026

U.S. Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright, will attend the Powering Africa Summit (PAS) 2026 in Washington, D.C., to discuss energy access and clean cooking. This summit, scheduled for March 19-20, will explore US-Africa cooperation on energy infrastructure and investments. Building on last year's theme, this year's summit will examine how US foreign policy is evolving through investment-led diplomacy.

Key discussions will include infrastructure investment and gas strategy collaborations between the US and Africa, featuring prominent leaders like Liberia’s Vice President and Ghana’s Minister for Energy. Sun Africa, among others, sponsors the event, highlighting the commitment to deepen US-Africa energy partnerships.

The summit aims to foster meaningful dialogues and explore reciprocal agreements that enhance critical minerals development and bilateral trade. Senior representatives from global organizations, including the US Export-Import Bank and International Finance Corporation, will be present.
