UPL Group Launches '#AFarmerCan' Campaign Ahead of COP30
UPL Group has announced the launch of its global campaign '#AFarmerCan', ahead of the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém, Brazil. The campaign emphasizes the critical role farmers play in climate resilience, urging world leaders to incorporate farmers in climate strategies. Through the campaign, UPL spotlights 20 global farmers pioneering in agriculture to showcase advancements in GHG mitigation, energy security, water conservation, soil health, and biodiversity protection.
UPL proposes a four-pillar framework to bolster farmer resilience. The framework includes rewards for adopting climate-friendly practices, subsidies and insurance protection, enhanced access to markets, and the promotion of digital tools and training. Jai Shroff, UPL's CEO, calls for global acknowledgment of farmers' contributions to climate resilience.
The campaign features extensive outreach, including videos, digital platforms, and eco-friendly merchandise. UPL's participation at COP30 includes showcasing sustainable initiatives and sponsoring a carbon-smart coffee experience. '#AFarmerCan' aims to recognize and empower farmers globally in the fight against climate change.
