United Internet AG Starts 2025 on a Positive Note
United Internet AG reported a strong start to the fiscal year 2025, achieving growth in customer contracts and sales. The company added 150,000 contracts, reaching a total of 29.17 million. While consumer applications saw an increase of 80,000 contracts and business applications gained 110,000, the consumer access segment declined by 40,000 contracts.
Sales for the first quarter rose by 4.2% to EUR 1.631 billion despite increased start-up costs for the 1&1 mobile network, which amounted to EUR -67.0 million. Adjusted EBITDA slightly increased to EUR 342.6 million. However, depreciation costs impacted EBIT, which fell to EUR 162.9 million.
Looking ahead, United Internet AG has upgraded its sales forecast for 2025 to approximately EUR 6.45 billion. EBITDA is projected to reach around EUR 1.35 billion, with cash capital expenditure estimated at EUR 800 million.
