Towards a generalization of the E-Ordinance in Switzerland

Major players in the Swiss healthcare sector, including the FMH (Swiss Medical Association) and pharmaSuisse, support the nationwide introduction of the "Swiss E-Prescription." As of March 2026, over 100,000 electronic prescriptions were being issued each month. This project aims to accelerate the digitization of medical prescriptions and simplify digital exchange between healthcare providers.

The system has already been integrated into numerous Swiss pharmacies. Discussions organized by Galenica highlight the importance of cooperation in integrating this digital solution in a harmonized manner. The initiative aims to meet regulatory requirements while improving the efficiency of the medical process.
