Antwerp-based TINC has announced a € 23 million investment in two large-scale battery energy storage systems in Ruien and Langerlo, Belgium. This strategic move is part of TINC's broader initiative to enhance the flexibility and reliability of the Belgian electricity network. The total project, valued at € 330 million, is set to bolster renewable energy integration and expand Belgium's flexible power capacity significantly.

The battery systems, with a combined capacity of 300 MW and total storage capacity of 1,200 MWh, are developed by Storm, a Belgian renewable energy company. They will be operational by the end of 2027 to support renewable energy integration. Project financing is backed by a consortium of Belgian and international lenders, while equity participation comes from TINC, PMV, and I4B.

This marks TINC's second major battery storage investment, following a € 61 million commitment in 2025 to Project Mufasa in the Netherlands.
