Thyssenkrupp nucera Engages in 600 MW Green Hydrogen Project in Europe
thyssenkrupp nucera has initiated a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) study for a major hydrogen project in Europe, targeted at producing green hydrogen for hard-to-abate industries. The project boasts an ambitious capacity of 600 megawatts, marking the third large-scale collaboration in the region for thyssenkrupp nucera, following previous endeavors with Shell and Stegra.
The planned facility aims to contribute significantly to industrial decarbonization by providing a sustainable hydrogen supply, contingent upon a final investment decision expected in 2026. Dr. Werner Ponikwar, CEO, highlighted the importance of aligning affordable green electricity with reliable off-takers for the project's viability.
The FEED study marks a crucial step, paving the way for an anticipated EPF contract phase, further cementing thyssenkrupp nucera's role in expanding Europe's hydrogen economy.
