The Swiss car market stagnates in April 2026
In April 2026, the new car market in Switzerland and Liechtenstein remained relatively stable with 18,618 registrations, almost unchanged from the 18,664 vehicles of the previous year, representing a decrease of 0.2%. After four months, the total reached 71,600 cars, reflecting a slight increase of 0.3%. This stagnation continues the moderate trend observed since the beginning of the year.
Demand remains moderate despite attractive offers and several new models. However, electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles have seen growth. Their share reached 37.5% of registrations in April, with notable increases of 13.3% for electric vehicles and 27.0% for plug-in hybrids since the beginning of the year.
