The Platform Group SE & Co. KGaA: Mixed H1 Results Amid Unresolved Transactions

The Platform Group SE & Co. KGaA has reported a mixed financial performance for the first half (H1) of 2026. Although the company's revenue increased by 22% compared to the previous year, reaching €421 million, this growth was primarily driven by a strong first quarter (Q1). Specifically, Q1 revenue surged by 51% year-on-year to €243 million. However, the second quarter (Q2) saw a slight decline of 2% in sales year-on-year, totaling €178 million. This decline marked the first quarter-on-quarter drop since the first quarter of 2024.

Despite the revenue shortfall, the company's adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (AEBITDA) exceeded expectations, rising 9% year-on-year to €19 million with a margin of 10.7%. The anticipated closure of the AEP transaction remains incomplete, with The Platform Group securing financing terms of up to €80 million for future acquisitions. The company's full-year revenue and AEBITDA projections remain steady at €1 billion and between €70 million and €80 million respectively. Uncertainties around the AEP deal and auditor issues may affect the stock, but the company maintains a 'Buy' recommendation.
