TenneT Germany Invests €10 Billion in Grid Expansion

TenneT Germany has committed to a record €10.05 billion in expanding and modernising Germany's electricity transmission grid in 2025. This marks a 47% increase in investment, underlining TenneT's role in securing energy supply. Underlying EBIT rose by 44% to €1.57 billion, and the Regulated Asset Base (RAB) grew by 32% to €36.79 billion.

CEO Tim Meyerjürgens highlighted the importance of robust grids for energy security and independence. The year saw significant financial milestones, including equity investments from APG, GIC, NBIM, and KfW, securing TenneT's future funding. TenneT has also established an independent organisational structure, enhancing its financial autonomy.

Significant progress was made in offshore projects, with new systems in the North Sea boosting wind energy transmission capacity. Onshore projects like SuedLink and SuedOstLink are also underway. For 2026, TenneT plans to maintain growth, focusing on further investment in grid expansion.
