Swiss retirees, European champions of satisfaction
Swiss Life published a study revealing that 80% of Swiss people aged 65 to 80 report being satisfied with their lives. Leisure, social life, health, and mobility are attractively designed for this age group. Notably, retirees with high incomes report higher satisfaction than those with lower incomes.
Two-thirds of study participants report few or no regrets. Men more often cite their partner as a trusted person (80%) compared to women (45%). Regarding health, a majority report feeling energetic, although half of respondents experience chronic health problems. Mobility remains high, with a high rate of retirees actively traveling within Europe and beyond.
Finally, social networks and family play a central role, with the majority saying they have strong and supportive social relationships.
