Swiss Re Appoints Nicole Pieterse as New Chief People Officer
Swiss Re announced the appointment of Nicole Pieterse as Chief People Officer, effective January 1, 2026. Pieterse currently serves as Head of Human Resources for Property & Casualty Reinsurance at Swiss Re. She will succeed Cathy Desquesses, who steps down for personal reasons.
Pieterse joined Swiss Re in 2015, bringing extensive HR leadership experience from the financial services industry. Jacques de Vaucleroy, Chairman of the Board of Directors, expressed support for Desquesses' decision to step down and welcomed Pieterse to the Group Executive Committee.
Andreas Berger, Group CEO, acknowledged Desquesses' contribution to Swiss Re's transformation, expressing confidence in Pieterse's ability to advance the company's strategic people agenda.
