Swiss Prime Site Reimagines Maag Halls for Cultural Use

Swiss Prime Site AG has shelved the "Maaglive" project in Zurich to focus on transforming the Maag halls into a cultural hub. The company will withdraw its appeal with the Swiss Federal Supreme Court and aims to lease the renovated space to a cultural institution. The decision follows uncertainty about the project's timeline due to pending objections.

Swiss Prime Site plans extensive renovations to preserve the Maag halls, making them suitable for cultural and public use all year round. The company signed a Letter of Intent with the University of Zurich, proposing the halls as a new location for the Natural History Museum. Renovation work is expected to start in 2029, with investments estimated at CHF 60 million.

The feasibility study confirms the potential of these spaces for museum use, promising a vibrant cultural development. This strategic shift underscores Swiss Prime Site's commitment to sustainable community spaces.
