Swiss Prime Site Appoints Marcel Kucher as CEO Starting January 2026

Swiss Prime Site AG has announced that Dr. Marcel Kucher will step into the role of Chief Executive Officer in January 2026. Dr. Kucher, currently serving as Chief Financial Officer since July 2021, will succeed René Zahnd, the CEO since January 2016. The decision follows an extensive search process considering both internal and external candidates.

During his tenure as CFO, Kucher played a pivotal role in refining the company's focus towards a concentrated real estate portfolio, comprising real estate assets and asset management. He spearheaded a capital recycling strategy and crafted a robust financing plan that secured an A3 rating in 2022. His rich background includes senior roles at McKinsey, a-connect, and Peach Property Group.

Board Chairman Ton Büchner expressed confidence in Dr. Kucher's appointment, emphasizing his varied real estate experience and leadership skills. Meanwhile, René Zahnd, reflecting on his near-decade at the helm, expressed gratitude and optimism for Swiss Prime Site’s future. The search for a new CFO is underway.
