Strüngmann Award 2026 Finalists Unveiled
Athos KG has announced the finalists for the 2026 Strüngmann Award, which honors life sciences entrepreneurs in the DACH region. This year, Dr. Stefano Portolano, Prof. Dr. med. Wieland Sommer, and Dr. Jonathan Talbot stand out as leading contenders. The award, accompanied by a EUR 100,000 prize, will be presented on September 15, 2026.
Dr. Stefano Portolano's company, Azafaros, focuses on therapies for rare metabolic disorders, including the promising nizubaglustat. Prof. Dr. med. Wieland Sommer's firm, Jacobian, has significantly advanced radiological reporting through its automated platform. Dr. Jonathan Talbot has led Mosanna and Melodia Therapeutics, pushing forward new treatments for sleep apnea and inflammatory diseases.
The finalists will present their projects to a jury of experts to decide the ultimate winner, showcasing how they have turned innovative scientific concepts into applicable products that benefit patients globally.
