Steyr Motors Expands Partnership with Defenture, Anticipates Record Order Backlog

Steyr Motors AG has announced additional orders from long-time partner, Dutch vehicle manufacturer Defenture, indicating a potential record order backlog. Steyr's M16 diesel engine continues to be integral in these international contracts, underscoring its central role. The recent order increase is expected to be in the multi-million-euro range through 2027.

The new contracts include supplying engines for special forces in Austria, Poland, and Germany, with German Special Forces Command (KSK) conducting operational tests on four prototypes. The collaboration emphasizes technical adaptation to meet specific operational needs. CEO Julian Cassutti highlighted the significance of these contracts, aligning with increased defense budgets.

Steyr Motors anticipates further orders linked to the German Armed Forces' procurement plans of tanks and vehicles. Detailed updates on order intake will be provided in the half-year results on July 31, 2025.
