Sterling Metals Uncovers New Cu-Mo Porphyry System
Sterling Metals Corp. has announced the discovery of a significant zone of copper and molybdenum mineralization in its first drill hole of the 2026 program. This new zone was found 1.5km from the MEPS Discovery Zone, suggesting a large porphyry copper system at the Soo Copper Project in Ontario.
The drill hole intersected over 400m of felsic porphyry stock with widespread copper sulphide and potassic alteration. Initial findings reveal that this may not be the core of the stock but part of a larger network. The next step includes drilling the western edge of the current anomaly for higher-grade copper mineralization.
This discovery, featuring consistent copper disseminations and molybdenite within quartz veins, is part of a broader 7km x 3km copper corridor. While assays are pending, these results support a major porphyry copper complex, expanding the project's potential exploration success.
