Sterling Metals Reports Significant Copper Discoveries at Soo Copper Project
Sterling Metals Corp. has announced promising assay results from three additional drill holes at the Soo Copper Project in Ontario. These results are part of the company's ongoing 2026 drilling program. The drill holes, identified as SC-26-07, SC-26-08, and SC-26-09, revealed continuous copper mineralization from near the surface, emphasizing the potential scale and continuity of the MEPS Zone.
The intersections averaged greater than 0.3% CuEq over lengths up to 325 meters. The findings reinforce Sterling's belief in a significant copper-dominant system with the potential for further expansion. The company notes that higher-grade copper zones are linked to favorable host rocks, aiding in targeting future exploration efforts.
Senior Vice President Jeremy Niemi highlighted that the exploration strategy is refining geological and structural controls of mineralization. This progress is crucial as the company seeks to expand the system's footprint and identify higher-grade zones. The drilling program at Soo Copper remains active, with aims to further define the system's scale and identify high-grade targets.
