Sterling Metals Extends MEPS Copper Zone Amidst Positive Drilling Results
On September 16, 2026, Sterling Metals Corp. announced significant assay results from its ongoing exploration at the Soo Copper Project in Ontario. Recent drill holes SC-26-25 and SC-26-26 have extended the core of the MEPS Copper Zone to a substantial 700 meters within a broader 1.3 km mineralized area. These findings are part of Sterling's ambitious 20,000-meter drill program.
SC-26-26 notably revealed 397.19 meters of mineralization grading at 0.37% copper equivalent (CuEq), with sections showcasing higher grades of 0.53% CuEq over 200 meters. This discovery continues to highlight the zone's potential for expansion both westward and beyond its current limits. The MEPS Copper Zone, hosted by potassically altered volcanic and porphyry rocks, remains a focal point of Sterling's exploration agenda.
Senior Vice President Jeremy Niemi underscored the strategic step-out, revealing nearly 400 meters of continuous copper from surface. As the MEPS system stays open for further exploration, Sterling is positioned to define a promising copper discovery.
