Stefan Waldner Appointed CFO of VERBUND AG

VERBUND AG has announced the appointment of Stefan Waldner as Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Management Board. Waldner's term is set for two years, with an option for extension. Bringing over 20 years of experience in the international energy sector, he is well-versed in financing, capital markets, and mergers and acquisitions.

Previously, Waldner held positions at OMV, including Senior Vice President in finance and CFO roles in Türkiye and Romania. His career started at Merrill Lynch International in London. Martin Ohneberg, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, highlighted Waldner’s blend of expertise in capital markets and operational finance.

Edith Hlawati from ÖBAG expressed satisfaction in securing Waldner, emphasizing his fit for the role. Waldner anticipates supporting VERBUND’s strategic initiatives, emphasizing financial discipline. He succeeds Peter Kollmann, with CEO Michael Strugl temporarily overseeing finance duties.
