Springer Nature Reports Strong 2025 Growth, Optimistic for 2026
Springer Nature AG & Co. KGaA reported robust financial results for 2025, highlighting a 6.2% increase in underlying revenue and a 9.2% rise in adjusted operating profit. The company saw a significant boost in the Research segment, with journals driven by open access (OA) and AI integration. Over 53% of primary research articles were published OA. Free cash flow grew by €79m, while net debt decreased by €0.4bn. Adjusted earnings per share reached €1.93.
For 2026, Springer Nature anticipates revenue growth between 5% and 6%, with improved profit margins. Their Research division led in performance, fueled by the strength of OA journals, and completed 85 transformative agreements by year-end.
Health and Education sectors also reported gains, though Education faced challenges, such as currency fluctuations in Argentina. Overall, strong cash flow and reduced leverage enhance strategic flexibility, positioning Springer Nature for continued growth.
