Sopra Steria Appoints Laura Chaubard as Leader of Defence, Security and Space Vertical
On July 13, 2026, Sopra Steria announced the appointment of Laura Chaubard as the head of its Defence, Security and Space vertical. This strategic decision aligns with the Group's objective to enhance sovereignty at a time of increasing European defence budgets and technology autonomy.
Chaubard, who has an accomplished background as a General Engineer of Armament and former Director General of École Polytechnique, will assume her new responsibilities from September 1, 2026. This vertical contributed to 13% of Sopra Steria's revenue in 2025 and is pivotal for the company's role in providing critical systems to military and government sectors.
The new appointment coincides with Europe's shift toward strategic independence in defence technology. Sopra Steria aims to leverage its capabilities in critical systems design, strengthened by strategic acquisitions like CS Group, Starion, and Nexova, to cement its status as a leading European player.
