SSCL Secures £300 Million Contract Extension for UK Government Services
Shared Services Connected Ltd (SSCL), a subsidiary of Sopra Steria, has secured a three-year contract extension valued at over £300 million. This extension allows SSCL to continue providing critical business services for six major UK government clients. These clients include the Department for Work and Pensions, Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, Health and Safety Executive, Home Office, Ministry of Justice, and Office for Nuclear Regulation until at least 2028.
The contract is part of the government’s ‘Synergy’ procurement programme and maintains SSCL's successful 12-year partnership with government departments, having already achieved over £950 million in efficiency savings. As part of the contract, SSCL will migrate each department to a new Oracle Fusion platform, setting the stage for a new 10-year BPS contract to be awarded next year.
This extension solidifies Sopra Steria’s strategic presence in UK markets, with a focus on sustainable, high value-add solutions to enhance public sector efficiency. John Neilson, CEO of Sopra Steria UK, emphasised the government’s trust in SSCL to deliver transformative services that optimize resources for frontline public services.
