Solitario Advances Bright Angel Gold-Copper Project with New Drilling Plan
Denver-based Solitario Resources Corp. has filed a Plan of Operations with the U.S. Forest Service to initiate core drilling on its Bright Angel gold-copper project in Colorado. This marks the first exploration drilling on the property since 1970. Previous drilling by Anaconda Copper identified promising mineralization, but gold assays were not prioritized due to then-low gold prices.
The Bright Angel site features a mineralized porphyry stockwork rich in gold and copper, covering an area of roughly 750 by 600 meters. Solitario's CEO, Chris Herald, highlighted the potential of this project given current high market prices for gold and copper, with copper designated as a critical metal by the U.S. government.
Solitario plans to conduct additional surveys in the upcoming field season and expresses a commitment to environmentally conscious exploration practices. This development could position Bright Angel as a significant target in Solitario's portfolio.
