Skyborn Renewables and Stadtwerke München Partner in Gennaker Wind Project
Skyborn Renewables and Stadtwerke München have formed a strategic partnership to develop the Gennaker offshore wind project in Germany’s Baltic Sea. Stadtwerke München will acquire a 25% equity stake, marking a significant milestone as the project progresses towards construction. This agreement underscores a shared commitment to renewable energy expansion in Germany.
Gennaker is set to become the largest offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea, with a planned capacity of 976.5 MW. Once operational, it will provide renewable energy to approximately one million households. A recent corporate power purchase agreement with Amazon highlights the project's commercial viability.
The partnership benefits from Stadtwerke München’s experience in renewable energy investments, supporting Gennaker’s next phase. Skyborn CEO Patrick Lammer recognizes Stadtwerke München as a strong partner. Stadtwerke München CEO Dr. Florian Bieberbach emphasized the project’s role in achieving renewable energy goals and expanding their offshore wind portfolio.
