SINEXCEL Empowers Aluminium Industry with New Energy Storage System

SINEXCEL has successfully connected a 107.12MW/428.48MWh battery energy storage system to the grid in Guangyuan, Sichuan Province, China. This development marks a significant milestone in commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage solutions. The system is designed to benefit aluminium producer Zhongfu Industrial by reducing electricity costs through efficient peak shaving methods.

Primary aluminium production is energy-intensive, with power costs constituting up to 40% of total expenses. The new battery energy storage system addresses this by storing inexpensive electricity during off-peak times and utilizing it during peak periods, saving 140 yuan per tonne of aluminium. Annually, it results in over 60 million yuan in savings while cutting CO₂ emissions by about 52,000 tonnes.

The project features 104 SINEXCEL 1725kW Power Conversion System (PCS) units, which offer high efficiency and rapid response capabilities, crucial for industrial environments. With certifications for various global markets and significant worldwide shipments, the PCS units from SINEXCEL are setting benchmarks for industrial-scale energy solutions.
