Sensirion's SGM5304 Achieves EN 17526 Certification

The SGM5304 gas meter module by Sensirion AG has obtained EN 17526 certification from the Netherlands Measurement Institute (NMi). This achievement facilitates a more efficient MID approval process for gas meter manufacturers.

EN 17526 is the first European standard for thermal-mass flow measurement, comprising residential, commercial, and industrial applications up to G100. The standard is being updated to include hydrogen and hydrogen-containing gases.

The certification ensures that SGM5304 complies with metrological standards for G4 and G6 ranges and introduces a temperature-only compensated G4 mode. This will streamline MID approvals, reducing costs and accelerating market entry.

Sensirion's gas meters, known for their long-term stability, are designed for various gases, including renewable options. With a compact design, the module supports the energy transition by accommodating future gas infrastructure needs.
