Sartorius Expands Bio-Circular Product Range to Enhance Bioprocess Sustainability
Sartorius has announced the expansion of its bio-circular product offerings to strengthen sustainable practices in bioprocesses. The company has achieved ISCC Plus certification at its sites in Göttingen, Germany, and M’Hamdia, Tunisia. This allows the use of certified renewable raw materials across new product lines, significantly reducing reliance on fossil-based plastics.
The certification ensures transparent sourcing and compliance via a mass-balance system. Notably, the Göttingen site will produce PFAS-free Sartopore Evo filters with these materials, while M’Hamdia will manufacture Flexsafe bags using certified feedstock. The transition aims to cut fossil-based compounds by up to 70 percent in these products.
Sartorius' commitment to integrating certified materials reflects its determined push towards more sustainable biomanufacturing alongside ensuring process compatibility. This aligns with the industry's broader goals of increasing production efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.
