Sanofi and Cheplapharm Establish New Partnership in Mature Medicines
On September 14, 2026, Sanofi and Cheplapharm announced a strategic partnership. Cheplapharm will acquire 20 mature medicines and three manufacturing sites from Sanofi. In return, Sanofi gains a 26.4% equity stake in Cheplapharm, reaffirming their long-standing collaboration.
This partnership acknowledges that mature and innovative medicines have distinct needs. Cheplapharm's expertise aims to ensure the continued availability of these medicines. The deal involves transferring sites in Hungary, Singapore, and France. Employee arrangements will remain unchanged.
The transfer of the medicine portfolio is set to begin in early 2027, with completion expected by the third quarter of that year. The transaction supports Sanofi's focus on innovation, while Cheplapharm bolsters its portfolio.
