Sanofi and Cheplapharm: a new agreement for mature medicines
Sanofi and Cheplapharm announce a strategic partnership for Cheplapharm to acquire 20 established drugs and three Sanofi manufacturing sites. In return, Sanofi will acquire a 26.4% stake in Cheplapharm. This initiative aligns with Sanofi's objective of focusing on innovation while ensuring the availability of established drugs.
The sites involved are located in Hungary, Singapore, and France, with staffing levels remaining unchanged. The transfer will begin in early 2027, subject to regulatory approvals. This collaboration strengthens the existing partnership between the two companies since 2014.
The transaction will not affect Sanofi's 2026 financial guidance. Further details will be provided at a later date. For both companies, this agreement represents a strategic opportunity to strengthen their respective positions in the mature drug market.
