Sandoz Advances in Resolving US Generic Medicine Litigation
On August 3, 2026, Sandoz, a leader in affordable medicines, announced key steps to resolve US Generic Drug Antitrust Pricing Litigation. The company entered a settlement with 43 US states and territories to address claims of anti-competitive conduct in the generic medicines market. Upon completion, this settlement will clear all federal or state claims against Sandoz. Additionally, Sandoz reached a settlement with indirect reseller plaintiffs, concluding all class-action litigation tied to this matter.
The settlements involve payments totaling USD 450 million, with USD 400 million over seven years to states and territories, and USD 50 million to those that settled earlier. An additional USD 28.5 million will resolve claims from indirect resellers, including pharmacies and hospitals. Both agreements deny admission of wrongdoing and leave Sandoz's 2026 financial outlook unchanged. The company remains focused on sound governance and resolving legacy issues.
