Saint-Gobain Expands Production Capacities in Egypt
Saint-Gobain has announced the opening of two new production facilities in Egypt, aiming to bolster its growth in the region. A second float glass production line in Ain Sokhna, established through a joint venture with Şişecam, will double the site's capacity. Additionally, a new plasterboard manufacturing facility is set to open in Sadat City, enhancing the group's gypsum solutions offerings.
Operating in Egypt since 2006, Saint-Gobain has seen its annual revenues triple over the last eight years, reaching approximately €150 million. The company's presence in Egypt's construction market, supported by demographic growth and urbanization trends, positions it as a leader in light and sustainable construction.
These strategic investments are in line with Saint-Gobain’s "Lead & Grow" plan, which focuses on accelerating profitable growth and solidifying its role in the local construction ecosystem.
