ROHM Unveils Advanced Schottky Barrier Diode for Image Sensor Protection
On October 23, 2025, ROHM Co., Ltd., based in Kyoto, Japan, announced the development of a pioneering Schottky barrier diode (SBD) tackling the long-standing technical challenge of the VF/IR trade-off. This innovation promises enhanced reliability for high-resolution image sensor applications, such as ADAS cameras.
Traditional SBDs face risks from photovoltaic voltage during power-off. ROHM's solution, the RBE01VYM6AFH, leverages low-VF characteristics to prevent circuit damage. It achieves a VF below 300mV and an IR under 20mA, crucial for high-demand environments.
The diode is housed in a compact SOD-323HE package, ensuring efficiency and easy integration. The AEC-Q101 qualification highlights its suitability for automotive electronics that demand durability.
